One Daughter is Equal to Ten Sons

One Daughter is Equal to Ten Sons

I came across an important clause "One Daughter is Equal to Ten Sons" when I could watch a glimpse of Man Ki Baat of Prime Shri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India. I have no any political mileage, not even any political takeaway of this important phrase/clause but it strikes my mind that the Prime Minister mentions that "One Daughter is Equal to Ten Sons" as depicted in Skanda Purana. Again, I have no substantial knowledge of Puranas but the Biggest Take Away for me is the MOST IMPORTANT statement, that is "One Daughter is Equal to Ten Sons".
When I read about Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, Mother Teresa, Sister Nivedita, Kalpana Chawla, Sunita Williams, Ira Singhal, Tina Dabi, and countless great daughters of all across the world; then their stories fascinate  me in accepting boldly that YES, One Daughter is Equal to Ten Sons.
Story of Ira Singhal is known to everyone; and those who do not know must read about great lady and great Indian daughter. She is inspiration for thousands of young girls and women who could get inspired by Ira Singhal and transform their lives for the development of nation. Ira Singhal, with around 60 percent of disability topped in most difficult examination in India (i.e. Union Public Service Commission) and became IAS (Indian Administrative Services) officer.
I was watching a news TV program on Republic TV and the programme was broadcast at 10 PM on 26th January or around, in a programme that had a wonderful prodigy as a guest, just 9 year old girl from Kashmir of India, who is world champion in Kickboxing. If anyone watches that programme again, possibly on YouTube, he/she would accept that YES, One Daughter is Equal to Ten Sons. Her name is Tajamul, she makes everyone silent spectators and just goes on articulating the real time success story about her and also talks about how and what to be done for all such young girls to bring them up at her or even beyond her level.
Stories are countless, Sister Nivedita renounced everything of western world and came to India for serving all masses; Mother Teresa also renounced all material things and dedicated all her life for poor and downtrodden. When we talk about Kalpana Chawla and Sunita Williams, we must be very proud of great Space Mission and Greatest Contributions of these women.  Daw Aung San Suu Kyi of Myanmar, who struggled with non-violence as a mammoth tool bring peace and prosperity in Myanmar. Tina Dabi, as a young girl, just at the age of 22 topped in IAS examination with humble background of BA (bachelor of arts). Many people think that only Engineers or with technical background can do this but this girl proved that NO, we girls if decide and determine, we get it ; we achieve it.
There are many many countless stories about daughters who have done wonders; who have been doing wonders; and of course many more such bright stories would be always coming up about the great daughters who would be doing wonders for ever. Therefore, the clause "One Daughter is Equal to Ten Sons" is most appropriate for all of us and we all should be proud of our daughters. Daughters are wonders doing wonders for creating wonderful and sustainable world.
